Ford and Mazda Shine at Motor Expo 2018

December 11th, 2018 Bangkok – Ford and Mazda left the crowd starstruck by their vehicle lineup at the 35th Thailand International Motor Expo from November 29th to December 11th at Impact Challenger Hall. The expo is one of Thailand’s top motoring events, with over one million visitors gathered to experience this year’s concept, ˜Enjoy Driving! Before Driverless Era’.

Orders for cars were up 10.9% from last year’s expo, amounting to 56 billion Baht. Both Ford and Mazda drew in throngs of attendees and buyers, with prospective sales totaling over 300 for both.

The Mazda team for all of Thailand secured the second highest number of bookings, surpassing traditional high volume manufacturers like Toyota, Mitsubishi and Isuzu. On top of that, Mazda 2 was one of the top five most-booked cars out of vehicles from 59 brands found at this year’s expo.

œThese tremendous results speak volumes about the work our team put in and the high market share that Mazda has captured in Thailand. Mazda aims to continue disrupting the automotive industry with new innovative vehicles equipped with never-before-seen features, said Pittawat Duangchaiek, General Manager, Mazda City.

Adding an extra element of surprise, the Mazda Vision Coupe debuted in Southeast Asia for the first time, leaving visitors stunned by its KODO design and flowing lines.

Ford brought out its biggest stars, including the globally revered All-New Built Ford Tough Ranger Raptor. Other favorites, such as the New Ford Everest and Ford Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost, along with the 5L V8 model dazzled fans and passerby.

œFord celebrated its heritage of being at the forefront of innovation, showcasing vehicles that best embodied the concept for this year’s Motor Expo. Ford continues to excite Southeast Asian fans with vehicles that are purely fun to drive, said Pipatphol Aunnapirug, General Manager, RMA City Motors.

Ford and Mazda aim to attend the 36th Thailand International Motor Expo next year with a new array of cars and driving experiences.
