Ford Motor Company and Lao Ford City Pledge Donations to Houaphan Province

September 30th, 2019 Vientiane – Ford Motor Company and Lao Ford City held a press conference at the Lao Ford City showroom announcing its annual donation pledge, with a total of USD $25,000 going to Clean Laos Green Vientiane and non-government organization plus Nobel Peace Prize co-winner, Humanity & Inclusion.

USD $20,000 will aid Humanity & Inclusion’s efforts to remove bombs left from the Vietnam War and USD $5,000 will go towards community cleanliness initiatives led by Clean Laos Green Vientiane, both in the Houaphan province.

Laos’ Houaphan province was hit hardest by unexploded cluster munitions, remnants of the Vietnam War. These leftover bombs have been hindering community development, especially impacting the local’s ability to make agricultural progress in the area.

For the past seven years, Ford Motor Company and Lao Ford City have joined hands to support Clean Laos Green Vientiane and Humanity & Inclusion, with each year seeing less bombs and a cleaner Houaphan.

œThe purpose of our philanthropic arm is to uplift communities and improve their physical and economic wellbeing. We’re proud to be making this donation every year because it stands for everything we aim to do. Our goal is to see the Houaphan province completely bomb-free, said Chakkaphonh Malabandith, Sales and Operation Manager LFC.

Ford Motor Company and Lao Ford City look forward to joining hands again next year to support Laos’ Houaphan province.
