œLaos is growing very quickly, and it continues to be a very important market for us. Ranger and Everest have been successful in here and by expanding our model range we look forward to helping our customers to continue to innovate, create and explore here in Laos.

The Next-Generation Powertrain

Capabilities and efficiency are among the top factors when choosing a pickup and SUV. The new four-wheel-drive Ranger Wildtrak and Everest Titanium are powered by the new-generation powertrain technology – 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which make them one of the most powerful and efficient pickup and SUV in the segments.

The 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine delivers 213 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Built from high grade alloy materials to ensure durability at higher temperatures, the two turbo chargers work sequentially to deliver enormous levels of power and torque.

At the same time, the cutting edge 10-speed automatic transmission has highly sophisticated software that is constantly evaluating road conditions to ensure the perfect shift, resulting in better acceleration, driveability, and fuel economy. The closer gear ratios also offer a smoother, more controlled towing.

The two-wheel drive variants of the Wildtrak come fitted with the 2.0L single-turbo diesel engine which produces 180 PS and a staggering 420 Nm torque, all while delivering significantly improved fuel efficiency and more refinement than ever before.

Built to take on every epic off-road adventure, the Wildtrak and Everest Titanium also boast class-leading 800mm water wading capabilities and impressive 230mm and 227mm ground clearance respectively. Coupled with Terrain Management System, and aggressive approach and departure angles, the Wildtrak and Everest Titanium are capable to take on any unforgiving environment and roughest terrain out there.

In addition to the impressive powertrain, the Wildtrak and Everest Titanium also boast stylish design and class-leading technologies to offer a smarter, safer, and more convenient driving experience.

Ranger Wildtrak 2.0L: Tough and Smart

Like all Ford trucks, Built Ford Tough is engineered into Ranger’s DNA – from its high-strength steel frame ladder chassis to its tough steel body and versatile cargo box.

Even the design is tough, the Wildtrak’s muscular body features a high beltline, while a raked grille and slanted windshield lend an athletic appearance – designed to aid aerodynamics, reduce wind noise and improve fuel economy. Short overhangs mean better approach and departure angles for off-road work, while a capacious cargo box is coupled with load securing features for work and play.

Matched with a bold grille which features the distinctive ˜nostrils’, new stylish 18-inch silver alloy wheel and a chiselled lower bumper that offers a broader intake, the Ranger Wildtrak looks more stylish while carrying the visual appeal of previous model. The Wildtrak is also fitted with new high-performance Bi-LED headlights for greater vision ahead and increase vehicle visibility. The new lighting system brings Bi-LED projector headlights, replacing the previous HID projector headlights, with an LED high-beam reflector (previously halogen reflectors). Aesthetically, the upgraded high-performance lighting system is distinguished by a new square lamp design in place of the previous circular versions.

In comparable conditions, the new high performance Bi-LED headlights bring a significant gain in forward vision for Ranger, with 17 per cent greater lighting penetration on the road ahead, which increases to a 20 per cent greater penetration when high-beam is in operation. Further benefits from the high-performance lighting include a brighter, white colour light beam that’s closer to daylight, further bringing a clearer road ahead.

Wildtrak 2.0L is also packed with advanced in-car connectivity and class-leading driver assistance technologies to help the driver stay in control, even in the toughest road conditions.

Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist feature using Inter-Urban Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Vehicle Detection and Pedestrian Detection is available on the new Ranger. The system is designed to monitor traffic and pedestrians and can bring the Ranger to a complete stop should it detect trouble ahead. It’s designed to help mitigate rear-end collisions and road-traffic collisions, helping to keep road users and pedestrians safe.

In a segment first, the new Ranger’s easy-to-live-with features include Active Park Assist (APA), reducing stress by enabling semi-automatic parallel parking. The driver needs only to apply the throttle and brakes while the system steers the Ranger into the parking space.

Loading is also easier than ever on the Wildtrak with the introduction of a first-in-segment, easy-lift tailgate. With a new internal mechanism, the Ranger’s tailgate is now lighter to lift, with a 70 per cent reduction in initial force required to raise it for closing. Not only does this system require less effort to lift, it also means that it’s easier to lower.

Other key technologies and smart features include:

  • SYNC ® 3 – continues to be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto including Bluetooth, an 8.0-inch full colour touchscreen, USB port and reversing camera.
  • Lane Keeping Aid and Lane Departure Warning – uses a forward-looking camera to monitor the road ahead and alerts driver if the vehicle begins to drift into another lane. Lane Keeping Aid can apply gentle but discernible torque to the steering system to help drivers stay centred in their lane
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning – allows the driver to set the vehicle’s speed while detecting moving vehicles ahead to warn driver of collision risks
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – automatically detect speed limit and provide warning when vehicle speed exceeds the limit

The new Ranger Wildtrak comes in four exciting colours – Saber, Absolute Black, Arctic White, Meteor Grey and is available at $51,800.

Everest Titanium 2.0L: Thoughtful Design Inside-Out

The new Everest Titanium stands apart with a modern and sculptural design that further enhances its capabilities. A robust front end featuring clean looking grille and LED daytime running lights give new Everest Titanium a powerful presence on the road, while the wide and low bumper improves the overall stance and aerodynamic, fuel efficiency. A more dramatic and premium look is achieved with the 20-inch split-spoke alloy wheel design that stands out against the darker wheel accent.

The interior of the Everest features a spacious seven-seat cabin that delivers a premium comfort experience and space for everyone. Soft-touch surfaces in contact points around the cabin improve comfort and quality, while the ebony interior theme brings greater depth and allows brightwork, contrast stitching and shadow chrome highlights to stand out strongly.

Additionally, extra space is available at the press of a button, including a power-fold third-row seating, giving plenty of space when needed. The premium in-cabin experience is also further enhanced with a panoramic Moonroof, which comprises 50% of the roof space, to let driver easily see the world and enjoy life under the stars.

Design to take its driver to every dream destination, Everest Titanium continues to fulfil its role as a highly-advanced, technology-led SUV, with innovative driver assistance features, equipment levels, and dynamics that allow it to feel nimble around town yet remain a force to be reckoned with off-road.

The new Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) keyless entry and push-button start is available in the new Everest Titanium. Front and rear-parking sensors come as standard across along with Active Park Assist (APA), giving drivers additional peace of mind by enabling semi-automatic parallel parking. The driver needs only to apply the throttle and brakes, as the system steers the Everest into the parking space.

Like the Ranger Wildtrak, the new Everest Titanium also features Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist that uses Inter-Urban Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection and Vehicle Detection that helps mitigate rear-end collisions and road-traffic collisions with pedestrians.

The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System sensors will constantly monitor every wheel and alert the driver of any problems. This not only helps to preserve the tyres by keeping them at the correct pressure, but also further enhances fuel economy and safety.

For optimal driver comfort, convenience, and safety, Everest Titanium also offers other popular driver assistance technologies which include SYNC 3 with Bluetooth with 8.0-inch full colour touchscreen, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping System, Forward Collision Warning System, Drover Alert System, Electronic Stability Control with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Auto High Beam Control and Blind Sport Information System with Cross Traffic Alert. Adding to all these are seven airbags including side, curtain, and driver knee airbags.

The Everest Titanium comes in three exciting colours – Sunset, Meteor Grey, Arctic White and is now available for bookings at Ford dealerships across the country, with starting prices from $64,800.

New Ranger and Everest customers will receive a 3 year/ 60,000km Free Maintenance Plan and a Premium gift worth $1300. All twelve Ranger Wildtrak 2.0L Bi-Turbo from the first consignment have already been sold and customers placed four bookings during the launch to take advantage of the limited-time promotions.

Apart from catching the new Ranger Wildtrak and Everest Titanium in action, guests were also treated to a question and answer game and give away Ford item during the event.

Following the launch in Vientiane, the new Ranger and Everest will arrive at Lao Ford City Showrooms throughout the country in the coming weeks.
