December 12th, 2018 Vientiane – On behalf of Ford Motor Company, Lao Ford City is financially supporting Health Poverty Action (HPA) with funds as part of the Ford Conservation & Environmental grants program in Laos.
HPA works to strengthen poor and marginalized people in their struggle for health, and brings health care to communities otherwise forgotten.
The funds from Lao Ford City will go towards training, health development and poverty reduction initiatives for people living in rural areas of Khammouane Province. Following the aftermath of the floods that recently shook the country, health is a major concern among the 392,000 people and more in the province.
“In the wake of the recent floods in Khammouane Province, access to health care is essential. Health Poverty Action is instrumental in contributing to the wellbeing of the province, and with local communities close to our heart, Lao Ford City is proud to support the organization’s work,” said Chakkaphonh Malabandith, Sales and Operation Manager, RMA Group Laos Ford City.
Ford Conservation & Environmental Grants was established in 1983 and has provided hundreds of grants to over 60 countries since its inception. Funds are used to preserve the well-being of local communities and builds on Ford’s heritage of improving people’s lives and making the world a better place.
The grants program brought in more than 200,000 USD to Laos over the years, and has benefitted the education, tourism and environmental sectors.
