Lao Ford City Goes the Extra Mile in Support of Country’s Longest Charity Run

October 26th, 2018 Vientiane – Lao Ford City is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the S2N South to North charity run, the largest and first ever fundraiser on foot pursued in Laos.

An inspirational group of six runners embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey, running 1,569km from Attapeu to Phongsaly from October 7th -26th to raise needed funds for the Attapeu Provincial Hospital and the Lao Friend Hospital. Supporting runners were invited to join the expedition at various points along the route. Donations were collected both online and in cities along the trail.

Lao Ford City added to the pool of donated funds, offering financial support that will be handed over to both hospitals. The dam collapse in Attapeu this July sent over a thousand flood victims to the provincial hospital, which will be receiving a portion of Lao Ford City’s contributions for necessary medical supplies and staffing.

Lao Ford City also provided a Transit Van and Ranger Pickup for the duration of the run.

In a special announcement, Mr. Dilip Jesuthasan, General Manager of Automotive, Lao Ford City, joined the race as a support runner. An avid runner who has been involved in community development work in Laos for over 15 years, Mr. Dilip represented Lao Ford City and collected further donations for S2N throughout his run.

œIt’s an honor to be a part of the S2N charity run representing Lao Ford City. I’m inspired by every volunteer involved, who are supporting this cause and showing everyone that good actions can inspire others to do good within their communities too, said Dilip Jesuthasan, General Manager of Automotive, Lao Ford City.

œS2N is supporting two hospitals that have huge potential to better the lives of the people living in the Attapeu and Luang Prabang provinces and beyond. Philanthropy can help them unlock that potential, he added.

This event marks the largest charity run in the country that Lao Ford City has ever been involved in.
